The Famous Car

About this time Lamborghini began to get interested in pioneering a high performance car. He had owned Oscas, Mitsibushis and Ferraris but was always annoyed with them.  Particularly their engines. There is a now renowned story about how he was annoyed with problems he had with a clutch in a Ferrari (a Ferrari 250 GT), and went to Enzo Ferrari whose factory was nearby. Enzo had no time for a tractor manufacturer and just dismissed him. Lamborghini decided there was nothing they were doing he could not do better. He decided to create his own car with a V12 engine.  For the design he discovered a very talented engineer named Giampaolo Dallara who had previously worked on a Ferrari V12 engine.
